What is included
in the tuition?

Tuitions for Community Service, Global Action,
Language Learning, Cultural Exploration, and Putney
Foundations programs reflect the total cost of each
program. They are inclusive. Therefore, the fee for
programs includes round trip airfare from the point of
departure (except where noted) plus all regular expenses
of the trip including three meals each day, lodging,
entertainment, excursions, theatre and concert tickets,
transportation, bike and boat rentals, ski passes and
equipment rental, taxes, etc. (except laundry and other
personal items).
Tuition for Excel at Amherst College includes
instruction, room, three meals each day, use of campus
facilities (including libraries, arts and theatre
spaces, student centers, gymnasiums, swimming pools,
tennis courts, running tracks, and playing fields),
transfer to and from the airport specified in the
transportation section (see page IV of the catalog or
click here), visits to area
colleges, pre-college program workshops, guest lectures,
and field trips. Tuition for this program does not
include transportation from and to your home town, text
materials and classroom supplies, some optional
afternoon, evening, and weekend activities, laundry,
health care, pocket money, or the optional supplemental
activities, trips, and fees listed in the Supplemental
Fees table below.
Tuition for Excel
Oxford/Tuscany, Paris/Provence, Madrid/Barcelona, and
China, includes all accommodations, two meals each
day (three meals in China), instruction, use of campus
facilities, transportation to and from the airport
specified
in the transportation section (see page IV of the
catalog or
click here), transportation in country, entrance
fees to museums and cultural sites, field excursions,
guest lectures, sports, social events, and taxes.
Tuition for these programs does not include air
transportation to and from Europe/China, lunches (except
in China), text materials, classroom and art supplies,
some optional afternoon and evening activities, laundry,
health care, and pocket money for gifts or snacks.
Participants are required
to have their own medical insurance coverage.
